So dear Excellency, High Representative of the European Union, dear Kaja Kallas.
Dear Excellency, Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, dear Mohammed.
Dear Excellency Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, dear Espen.
Dear Ambassadors, special envoys, representatives of international organizations,
dear partners of the Global Alliance.
I'm very pleased to host you here today for the 9th meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the two-state Solution.
It is the 2nd time since the creation of the Global Alliance in 2024 that Belgium is hosting such a meeting.
It is no small thing that 60 countries have made their way to this room at this moment.
In the midst of everything that is happening in the Middle East and in the world.
We meet in the middle of a storm. We cannot abandon the compass. We must hold the course.
Because the Israeli Palestinian issue is affecting the Middle East as a whole, and also the rest of the world.
This is why we are all here today, and thank you for that. Today we have to answer difficult questions. The most fundamental being.
How do we ensure that short term stabilization actually connects to the political origin of a Palestinian and Israeli state living side by side? In peace and security.
I will not pretend the path is easy.
The two-state solution is not a dream for idealists. It is the only realistic destination.
For Israelis, we deserve security, for Palestinians,
we deserve sovereignty, for the region. That deserves stability. So let us make this meeting matter.
With that, let me give the floor to our representative Kallas. Kaja Kallas, it's over to you.
