The Panel is a special occasion
in which the European Commission
involves the European citizens.
I came to this Panel
to meet people
from many parts of Europe
and to have meaningful dialogue
just as we have done over these past few days.
I also think it's quite important
that these Panels take place,
because it makes us understand
that the European Union
is indeed a democracy
and that everyone's opinion matters.
When I was invited
I didn't have many preconceptions
about the discussion
itself at first.
I didn't know how the process
would actually unfold,
how people would react
or how the discussion would go.
But so far, the whole process
has been very smooth.
I think the most important thing for me
would be to focus
on the environment,
although lately,
given the date of this Panel,
there's been a lot
of talk about security
and well,
I think it would be a bit difficult
to choose between the two.
I'm leaning towards the environment,
but I think the issue
of security is very topical.
What surprised me
was how well we managed to organise
everything, and how well
we've integrated here.
That includes participating
in ways that balance
with household chores
and contributing our own ideas.
It was a wonderful experience,
because you get to meet people
from many different backgrounds.
It was extremely interesting
and educational.
It has a concrete impact,
and it is important to take part.
I hope everybody
to have this experience
just like I did.
I was invited. First of all,
I didn't have many preconceptions
about the discussion itself.
I didn't know how the process itself would go,
For me, it's armaments, defense.
That is to say, it's topical, right?
So right now, that's all people are talking about.
And I agree with a lot of things.
