The EU’s transition to a circular economy will reduce pressure on natural resources and will create sustainable growth and jobs. The EU action plan targets how products are designed, promotes circular economy processes, encourages sustainable consumption, and aims to ensure that waste is prevented and the resources used are kept in the EU economy for as long as possible.
These illustrations show post-consumer wood waste recycled into chipboards by the Belgian company Unilin. The company then uses these chipboards in their production of wooden floors and decorative wood panels for construction and interior design. UNILIN is a Belgian company specialized in flooring and in manufacturing products such as roof panels, insulation panels and furniture panels. It is the first flooring manufacturer to receive the EU Ecolabel for its direct pressure laminate flooring.
