Biodiversity - Pink flamingos
Flamingos are a family of wading birds. They are closely related to the storks and are common in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The European flamingos live mainly in the south of France, on the Iberian Peninsula and in the delta of the Danube River. They get their reddish-pink colour from pigments found in the algae and invertebrates that they eat. These photos show pink flamingos in the Ebro Delta, the delta region of the Ebro River, southwest of Catalonia Province of Tarragona. It is on the Mediterranean Sea, and is the northernmost point, by some designations, of the Gulf of Valencia.
