On 10 March 2026, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, travelled to Paris, France, to attend the second World Summit on Nuclear Energy.
Hosted by Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, the government of the French Republic and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the summit brought together heads of state and government, heads of international organisations, financial institutions, industry representatives and experts to discuss the role of civil nuclear energy in addressing major energy and climate challenges. The event presented a valuable opportunity to promote international collaboration and develop practical solutions for the safe and sustainable growth of civil nuclear power.
