From the late 1990s, the euro has gradually entered everyday life across Europe. This stockshots production shows information and preparation measures (posters, leaflets, educational campaigns, euro starter kits distributed by banks) and the concrete changes visible in retail space (dual price displays, the appearance of euro banknotes and coins) with transactions filmed in a wide range of settings. The images capture the period in which national currencies and the euro coexisted, the hesitations linked to conversion, and the learning of new payment and cash-handling gestures.
