On 1 February 2024, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Charles Michel, President of the European Council, participated in the special European Council meeting, held in Brussels, Belgium.

On this occasion, the EU leaders granted additional funding for the 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework, evaluated Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, discussed the situation in the Middle East and agricultural issues. At the same day, a demonstration took place in the center of Brussels on the topic of EU agricultural regulations.
