Maritime transport contributes to an estimated 2-3% of total global greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing emissions from the shipping sector is a key objective of the European Green Deal. This video stockshot presents illustration footage on the world’s first container vessel operating on green methanol produced by solar panels, the Laura Maersk. The vessel was officially named at an event in Copenhagen on 14 September by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
