On 2 March 2026, in Brussels, Belgium, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Costas Kadis, European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, delivered the opening speeches for European Ocean Days. European Ocean Days offers a series of sessions on key ocean-related topics, designed to encourage participants to engage on various issues and contribute to the prosperity, competitiveness, security and sustainability of the oceans.
